Choose a bottle that is BPA free for your baby.
First what is BPA? It is short for Bisphenol-A, which is a chemical that is actually an artificial estrogen. It is used to create the plastic called polycarbonate. Research have shown that BPA are harmful to animals and people especially for babies. It appears to mimic the effects of estrogen, interfering with hormone levels and cell signaling systems. People exposed to high levels of BPA have a greater risk of developing uterine fibroids, breast cancer, decrease sperm counts and prostrate cancer. If you want to avoid any bottles that contains it, look for the #7 recycling symbol or “PC” on the bottom. That’s usually a sign that the bottle contains BPA.
There are many bottles that are BPA free like Avent, Born Free etc. As for my baby, his bottle is Tommee Tippee although it’s expensive, its BPA free and its teat mimics mum’s breast so you can switch easily from breast to bottle and back again without the trauma.
