The 2010 Election is only 32 days away. Unfortunately, I cannot exercise my right to vote because my registration was deactivated. My officemate mentioned that she received a letter informing her registration is deactivated because she failed to vote in the last two elections. Since, we recently moved from Manila to Rizal province, I did not received such letter from COMELEC. I checked the Comelec website to investigate if my registration is active or deactivated because during the last 2 elections I was sent by our company to Japan for business trip and therefore was unable to vote.
This is the website. http://www.comelec.gov.ph/precinctfinder/precinctfinder.aspx
After filling up the form and hitting the "Find Now" button, below is the result. "Your registration record has been deactivated. A deactivated registration status means that you cannot exercise your right to vote this coming election. I called up the precinct where I previously registered and it is confirmed…. I cannot vote this coming 2010 May Elections.
